In 2005, Malaysia performed the first single lung transplant on a patient with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Up till 2020, a total number of 12 cases have been transplanted and the results were a mixture of early mortality due to graft failure to a good outcome of more than 10 years survival. When there is still a lot of work that needs to be done and ample knowledge to learn to refine the transplant services, we witness the COVID pandemic era that hits us real hard including disruption of our transplant program. A few years have passed, and this is the time for us to move forward. In this forum, we are going to discuss the past, present, and how we see the future of the lung transplant services would progress in coming years in Malaysia. Our honorable guests will also discuss the issues they identified in the current program together with its best possible solutions. Looking forward to seeing you in the meeting hall in this upcoming MTS meeting.
